Today, Ralph will begin re-loading your requested configuration changes, additions and deletions to each tablet’s Lifenet EMS program.  The new configuration was designed from requests submitted by the medics.  To follow is a list of these changes and/or additions.  Please understand, We realize that there are still several needed changes and additions.  Many we know about and many you will point out to us promptly.  We will get those that can be modified, added or deleted on the next upgrade.  Keep your suggestions coming to help us develop a program that works best for all of us!

To follow is a list of exactly what modifications were made and the exact location in the Lifenet EMS program.

  1. Cities-every city in Arkansas has been loaded in the “Demographic Section” REF:  ID->Identification->Demographics or other places where a city is required.
  2. Counties-every county in Arkansas has been loaded in the “Demographic Section” REF:  ID->Identification->Demographics or other places where a county is required
  3. Medications Added:  REF:  Subjective->MEDS (PT). Brethine, Atrovent. Nitroglycerine Spray is currently the only choice if you administered Nitroglycerine.  MEMS is currently moving from spray to sublingual tablets; after the configuration changes were already made. Some units may still have the spray as we use up our current inventory. Continue to use Nitroglycerine Spray when administering Nitroglycerine spray or tablets.  I recommend you use comments section to confirm tablet(s) were administered.
  4. Fall:  Mechanism of Injury for falls previously only offered two choices (Over 20 ft or ground level).  REF: Subjective->Injury->1-4->1° MOI Fall. Added:  Fall 0-3 ft, Fall 4-7 ft, Fall 8-12 ft, Fall 13-20 ft and Fall >20 ft.
  5. Motor Vehicle Collision- MOI “Patient ejected from vehicle”  “Unknown” was added.  REF: Subjective->Injury->1°-4°MOI->Motor Vehicle..->Pt Ejected from Vehicle.
  6. Skin temperature had redundant buttons:  REF: Survey->C->Skin..->Temperature.  One of the Hot buttons has been changed to Normal.  Selections are now, Cool, Normal, Warm, Hot.
  7. Skin color had redundant buttons:  REF: Survey->C->Skin….->color.  “Flushed” has been added.
  8. Skin moisture had redundant buttons:  REF: Survey->C->Skin..->Moisture.  “Perspiration” has been added.
  9. Patient Medications:  REF Subjective->MEDS (PT).  Instead of listing a long patient medication list, you may now select from the following:  List w/patient, Per MAR, Multiple Meds or Unknown.
  10. 911 Used” REF: Transport->Scene->Called By-> “911 Used” was added to the following buttons:  Patient/Family-911Used, Bystander-911 Used, Fire-911 Used, Police-911 Used, Ext. Care Facility-911 Used, Acute Care Facility-911 Used.
  11. Care Transfer condition:  REF: Assess/Plan-> Assessment->Care Transfer Condition.  “No Change”  to indicate no change in patient condition has been added.
  12. Patient’s Residence has been added to the receiving facility list and the Sending facility list.  REF: Transport->Dest->Receiving Institution (or Sending Institution)->Patient Residence
  13. Neck Stiffness is now an option on the Pertinent negative screen.  REF: Subjective->Symptoms->Head/Neck->Neck Stiffness
