Metropolitan Emergency Medical Services is now accepting applications for the position of Training Manager.
The Training Manager oversees the training program by providing guidance and support for all aspect of training needs.
The MEMS Training department is responsible for recertifications and continuing education for employees and partner agencies, as well as functioning as a satellite campus for South Arkansas Community College, facilitating on-site EMT and Paramedic classes year-round.

Primary Responsibilities:
Oversee education and training of new EMTs and Paramedics
Create and schedule continuing education classes for MEMS staff
Assist in development of in-person and online training for partner agencies and the public
Budget for, select and maintain training equipment
Maintains and ensures accuracy of state and national registry certifications and records
Monitor, evaluate and report on training programs’ effectiveness, success and ROI
Manage department budget
Provide opportunities for ongoing development
Tailor training programs as needed to resolve specific problems or issues
Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices
Qualifications: Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor's degree (or working toward a degree) in business, healthcare, education, or a related field of study
Knowledge of principles and practices of emergency medical service
Knowledge of state regulations for EMS
Excellent leadership and motivational skills
Ability to plan, manage time and multitask effectively
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to supervise the work of others
Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
Good collaboration and teamwork skills
Knowledge of pre-hospital emergency medical protocols, procedures, and treatments
Knowledge of infection control and occupational health issues and procedures
Ability to assess and evaluate skill levels
Ability to identify and assess future and current training needs through job analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisals and consultation with staff
Ability to deploy a wide variety of training methods
General working hours for this position will be from 7:00am – 5:00pm Monday through Friday. Additional hours during the week or on weekends may be required due to training needs. Office environment with some travel and time in the field with crews.
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, carry and ability to lift a minimum of 10 lbs up to 110+, including the ability to complete the same tasks as field personnel.
